Welcome To
The Cobham Garden Club

Join our community.

The Cobham Garden Club (formally known as Cobham
Garden and Horticultural Association) has been part of
our community for over 40 years and is still thriving.

We run 2 annual flower shows , our Summer show in  June when the sweet peas and roses are at their best, and our Autumn Show (incorporated within the Heritage Day celebrations locally) for Dahlias and vegetables. Both have classes for cookery, handicraft, flower arranging, pot plants and flowers, fruit and vegetables, but there are classes for children, especially the Autumn Show. Following the success of the collaboration with the local scout leaders, we will, once again be holding a scarecrow competition , so get your children or grandchildren to enter.

A little about us

The club is run by volunteers and boasts a shop “Greenfingers” that opens for business every Saturday between 11.00am and 2.00pm.
We sell sundries, composts, lawn sand and all garden accessories at very competitive prices. We are a non-profit making organisation all our prices are very competitive. Free advice from seasoned gardeners is always on hand. We also organise 2 flower shows per year in June and September to encourage people to grow and exhibit vegetables, flowers and crafts in a competition. Categories will be published well in advance for each show.

We have plant sales throughout the summer – at a fraction of the cost of plants available in the local garden centres, and arguably better quality. Allotment holders also offer surplus vegetables for sale for which we only ask for a small donation to the Garden Club which will go towards the upkeep of the shop, or towards social events.

Activities (free to members)

- Twice yearly flower shows
- 7 social nights throughout the year with a guest speaker on a variety of subjects which are always interesting and make for an enjoyable evening.
- Summer and winter barbecues, with food provided and cooked for you by experts. Free to members. The shop will be open for business at these events should you need any supplies.

Membership information

We have a very active membership and provide a monthly newsletter full of news of what is happening each month, including helpful topical garden tips and information about special offers available in the shop. It also flags up future events.

Membership of the Club is £5.00 per year which entitles you to shop at the Greenfingers shop and enjoy our competitive prices and buy seasonal produce and plants.

Randalls Allotments

Randalls allotment site is also run by the club and these are situated alongside the Garden Club Shop. If you are looking for a plot please contact either Dave or George (see contacts page) to find out what might be available. Demand for plots is very high, as are standards of upkeep, so only apply if you are keen to “go green” and grow your own produce and are not afraid of hard work!
